The traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic have been continuously strengthened and developed over the past 70 years, since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1950. Also on the 133-year journey of formation, construction and development of HABECO, there has been great support from Czech friends.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of HABECO shared about the history of establishment and development of HABECO, emphasizing that in the early period of the factory's restoration, there were many difficulties and challenges. With the help of close friends, two Czech experts, Mr. Dostal - technology expert and Mr. Maly - mechanical expert, the factory completed the works serving production and on August 15, 1958, the first bottle of beer in Vietnam with the Truc Bach brand was born. The delegation was also introduced to the current scale of HABECO, HABECO's products currently on the market as well as the achievements HABECO has achieved in recent years.
Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh said that today, Truc Bach beer is positioned as HABECO's highest-end product, with the main ingredient being Saaz hops originating from the Zatec Valley in the Czech Republic. Saaz hops are considered the hops of the aristocracy and are an indispensable main ingredient for Truc Bach beer to achieve its classy position. HABECO has cooperated with the Bohemia Hop producer to purchase Saaz hop pellets with an output of about 4 tons/year from 2021 to 2024. In addition, a number of HABECO officials from different periods have been sent to study and work in the Czech Republic, including many leaders of the Corporation.
Appreciating the warm welcome of HABECO, Mr. Marek Výborný - Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic shared that Czech enterprises have had and are having a lot of potential to cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in the field of food agriculture. He also said that the Czech Republic is very proud to have Zatec land that fully meets the soil conditions to produce the highest quality Saaz hops in the world. However, due to strict criteria and meticulousness in the cultivation process, the cultivation area and output of this hop variety are still modest. For a traditional friendly partner like HABECO, the Czech Republic is committed to always providing enough output to serve the beer production of Vietnamese beer enterprises.
Mr. Marek Výborný and the delegation also visited the Hanoi Brewery – Hoang Hoa Tham, directly inspected and evaluated the raw materials imported from the Czech Republic, tasted the products and took souvenir photos at the HABECO campus. At the end of the meeting, the two sides shared about the opportunities, potential for cooperation, investment opportunities, and export market development, thereby contributing to promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
